Environmental Initiatives

Our Responsibilities:

At Nisbets, we take our responsibilities to the environment very seriously and work hard to minimise our impact as much as we can.

Within the company a team of dedicated volunteers from various departments constantly look into ways that we can further reduce our impact through many diverse methods, from recycling to energy saving light bulbs throughout our buildings.

In fact, our efforts have become so extensive that we've recruited a full time Environmental Officer to manage them.

Our Objectives:

• Nisbets already recycles over 94% of it's waste and we hope to achieve 0% landfill by the end of 2008.
• Recycle all waste in an efficient manner to minimise carbon mileage.
• Reduce paper waste by encouraging paperless communication across the business through email and by maximising paper use through more efficient printing and re-use of paper.
• Encourage customer support by offering email invoices and statement reminders.
• Lower our energy levels and water consumption through energy efficient technology including PIR controlled lighting, and responsible use of electronic equipment and resources.
• Encourage new ideas and initiatives to lower Nisbets' carbon footprint and to help raise environmental awareness.
• Promote a sense of corporate and social responsibility around green issues.
